Aspirations: Behavioral Educator
Veenu McCarter has dedicated her career to helping others attain the skills necessary to live a better life. This is what led her to create Aspirations. The main purpose of Aspirations is to provide quality care to individuals while assisting in achieving their life goals. Veenu works with you and your family to create a unique plan of action that facilitates a greater understanding of how to make your visions become your reality.
Community Based Rehabilitative Services (CBRS):
This service is available to support families and children from birth to age three who are determined eligible by the Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) for the North Carolina Infant Toddler Program.
This service is uniquely designed to assist children with building cognitive, motor skills, behavioral, self-help, social-emotional, and language skills. Aspirations delivers this rehabilitative therapy in the child's own natural environment in order to empower the family/caretaker with an understanding of the issues and processes involved with improving the quality of life for their children.
Behavioral Educator: Reshaping Behaviors
Veenu McCarter began working as a Behavioral Educator in MA (supervised by a BCABA), designing behavioral programs for children on the Autism Spectrum, using ABA. She has numerous certifications of completion for several trainings she has acquired throughout the years. She now works with children and families, helping them to recognize, understand and reshape the undesired behaviors of their children, with amazing results.
My education, training and experience combines to provide a unique perspective for families with young children who are facing struggles in their existing day-to-day family life. As a result, I am able to provide my services and expertise which will cover all of the following topics, as they pertain to your family and specific needs:
- Rule Setting. Addressing/Establishing the rules of the home.
- Setting Boundaries. What is allowed and what is not (disrespect, lying, going to school, bedtime, meal time, homework, etc.)
- Consistency. There is no MAYBE it is either YES or NO.
- Reshaping Behaviors. Showing you how to redirect the behaviors that you will NOT allow, while learning how to reshape them into what is allowable.
- Taking Back Control. How NOT to be manipulated by your children and how not to give into the power struggle.
- Asserting Your Parental Authority. When NO means NO.
- Parenting with Honesty. Why it is important to BE HONEST at all times so that children realize they can come to you for any reason and will receive true answers and guidance without judgement.
- Establishing Ground Rules. Setting rules together as a family and learning how to stay true to them so that children understand the reason for each rule and the consequences of breaking them.
- What is an Allowance? How/why do they earn things? As a parent, are you just giving them things without expected results? If so, how do they learn the value of anything? You will learn to set reasonable expectations for each child, with a reasonable reward (i.e., allowance) for such behavior.
- Taking Back Control as a Parent. Parenting is not about the children, it is about the parents asserting their role and delegating behaviors and structure to each child, based on the situation, the age of the child and the specific circumstance at hand. ( I will explain this in much more detail during our in-person sessions).
- Having Permission to be a Child. Setting permissions and boundaries for each child so that they are allowed the freedom of expression and growth, while learning to grow and express themselves in a positive manner which works within the new family dynamic that will be established.
Behavior Modification is done in the home, the natural environment of the child.

"I know with all the experiences in my life, I have realized that knowledge is growth. I continue to acquire knowledge each day of my life, in order to continue to grow. I value life. When you value something, you must ask yourself, What is it worth? What are you willing to do for it? I ask myself these exact questions and I have come to realize that I am a vibrant soul, who is grateful for the talents that God has bestowed upon me, in order so I can do amazing things for myself and other people. I am willing to step up, set a new standard and defy any odds. I am a leader. I have learned that with fear comes courage. Fear has taught me to be cautious of my surroundings, take my time, see all possible solutions and take action."
